Dr. Hans Petermann

Such inspiration to many and he always believed in me
A perfect holiday guest as anyone could ever hope to be

Inspite of his affliction he always worked hard every day.
A man with moral values and he always had a lot to say

Many said Dr. Hans was the most intelligent man they'd ever knew
He was never afraid to speak his mind but that he knew too much too.

He was a service man stationed in Germany in nineteen sixty three
He spoke several languages and repaired helicopters in the U.S. Army

He loved the Sciences and Physics was his favorite subject of matter in life
He is survived by his brother and daughters not by his former late pilot and wife

She died before the professor and he loved and missed her and his mom too
Her cooking he loved and always mentioned it during the Thanksgiving too

Such a pleasant friend to have and to know
One you could always count on and to always go

So unbiased and unjudgemental his friendship was true
He would lift your spirits even if you were blue

You could tell him anything and he would always understand
Such wisdom and understanding I've not found in any other man

He was loved by many and will be missed by us all
A pillar has departed, We now miss when he used to call

His light and his strength have gone to another dimension and space
One he was fully aware of in life on earth, the universe and in any case

Good bye to you Dr. Hans with love and peace
Your daily walks to the post office will now cease

I will miss you the most during the holidays of course
But I will think of you kindly without hesitate or remorse

Such a wonderful friend I have never before had in so long
Thank you for your friendship to you that is my only song

My blessed best friend was taken from us all too soon. I had just taken him swimming over to our mutual friends house Charles Sachs. We had wonderful popcorn at the Jacuzzi that night, Dr. Hans was at the heated pool jumping around and swimming and Charles and I were on the other side in the Jacuzzi. That night, 2 security guards to lock the gate as we were leaving. That had never happened before and I thought it a bit peculiar. Well, that was the last time I ever saw my best friend. I've lost two of the closest friends that I've had in my life here in the desert since 2010. Dr. Hans and I had another mutual friend and she was also an author just like Dr. Hans and I. Her name was Annette Salvesen. She was a WWII Bletchley Park Decoder. I published her book for her and created her a beautiful website http://sworntosecrecy.weebly.com/ for free because she had no money at all. The St. Paul's Episcopal church brought her food every Friday. I gave her 50% of all her royalties and she about flipped when she got her first check from me that was over fifty ($50) dollars because the other publisher that she fired never paid her one red cent even though they had published her book almost 2 yrs earlier. Today is Dr. Han's anniversary of his graduation from this life into the one he always dreamed about. Dr. Hans and I had one more beautiful friend in common that he introduced me to. She is young and healthy and for that, I'm so grateful that I do not have to fear the loss of any more of my precious friends. It is Dr' Han's beloved Rodell Henshaw that I met at the food bank where I had taken Dr. Hans as I often did take him to when I still had my 2014 Camry. I introduced Dr. Hans to Annette. Dr. Hans was always my Holiday dinner guest and I always told him that he could bring a friend. He tried hard to bring Rodell to the first Thanksgiving dinner that I had in 2010 here in Palm Springs but Rodell got lost and Dr. Hans didn't give her my phone number. In 2014 Dr. Hans introduced me to the wonderful Charles Sachs who he brought over to my house for the Thanksgiving dinner I made for me and my friends.
